Hyperal Plus is designed for medical professionals, using PDAs utilizing the Palm OS, to determine a patient's daily caloric and protein need. Quick and accurate calculation of a hyperalimentation (total parenteral nutrition) formula is accomplished. The program calculates carbohydrate, lipid and total calories as well as percent lipid and calorie nitrogen ratios. The total sodium and potassium is also calculated. For patients on transitional feeds, enteral calories, grand total calories and percent enteral calories are calculated. This allows for accurate and gradual switch over to an enteral diet.
